You can go about having an airsoft war many ways. You can play by paintball rules where after shot, you are out untill the end of that particular game. This style is best judged to ensure that everyone plays farely. Another way to play is capture the flag where each team tries to successfully capture the other teams flag without getting shot in the process. This game goes by paintball rules as well. If shot you are out for the rest of that game. When airsofting, it is recomended you wear eye protection. There are also no headshots allowed to prevent damage to teeth. Some airsoft guns have the hop-up feature. To ensure nobody gets shot in the head, the hop-up feature of your gun needs to be switched to the off position. Through all the ways one can airsoft, doing it safely in the most important of all.

There is no rule about nobody aiming for the head. If you go out there without a mask, you take the chance for yourself and risk your face being shot up. Also, nobody can effectively determine where the bb is going to fly, sights are just general suggestions as wind, temperature, obstacles, and random acts of god are what determine where the bb will fly.

I seem to recall shooting you in the throat during an airsoft war and you did not seem to thrilled. No matter how many things effect your gun, it is still possible to avoid shooting people in the face. Getting shot in the face is about as fun as getting nose bleeds while taking a dump (I have experienced both...they suck). I'm not saying to go out of the way to prevent this, I am just saying that careful aiming at close range will make a big difference.

accidentally getting hit in the face is no big deal with the right protection but it shouldnt be done on purpose from a point-blank range
